  Before first use, they should be honed with a whetstone to maintain their final sharpness.

To prevent corrosion or rust, the manufacturer recommends protecting the tools with a film of oil after use or before prolonged periods of non-use.

Before storing the tools, moisten the blade with a cloth lightly soaked in oil.
