The removable, transparent 1.3 litre water tank and 700 ml milk container provide enough supply for several cups without frequent refilling. Perfect preparation with CASO EspressoGourmet Latte Making the perfect espressoThe basis for a perfect espresso is the right preparation. Make sure the machine, accessories and grinder are always clean. Fill the reservoir with fresh, cold drinking water and switch on the machine. An important step is to preheat the cups or glasses - place them on the heating plate of the CASO EspressoGourmet Latte to reach the ideal temperature. Use fresh espresso beans and a quality grinder to maintain the full aroma.
Grinding and the importance of correct granulationA key factor in espresso preparation is the correct grinding level of the coffee beans. Grind only the amount you need, as ground coffee quickly loses its aroma. For a classic espresso (20-30 ml), we recommend about 7 g of ground coffee; for a double espresso or two cups, about 14 g. The grinding level determines the extraction and therefore the aroma: too fine a grind results in excessive bitterness, too coarse in a sour taste. With the right grind setting, you always achieve the optimum result directly in the handle.
The special feature of the double-walled filter cartridgesCASO EspressoGourmet Latte is equipped with double-walled filter cartridges that make it easy to prepare the perfect espresso. They consist of two connected sieves through which the water flows more slowly. This way, optimum pressure is achieved even with coarser ground coffee, resulting in espresso with a rich crema. This feature is particularly practical when using already ground coffee. Before the actual brewing, we recommend heating the machine to the optimum temperature by running the water without the coffee - this warms up the machine and the cups.
Correct tamping for a perfect espressoEven and firm tamping of the coffee powder is key to the quality of the espresso. Make sure the coffee is evenly distributed in the handle and press down firmly with the tamper. The recommended pressure is about 15 kg. Well-pressed coffee creates the ideal resistance to water and ensures a balanced, aromatic espresso. Too weak a tamp will result in a watery flavour, too strong a tamp will result in an over-intense aroma.
