The digital squelch makes operating the Alan 42 DS particularly convenient and provides optimum receiver sensitivity at all times. By switching the country standard, the device can be used in any European country.
The extensive range of accessories for the Alan 42 DS allows the device to be used in different scenarios. Two exchangeable battery compartments are included for portable operation with rechargeable or alkaline batteries. These can be easily exchanged for the on-board voltage adapter with 12V cigarette lighter connection to operate the device in the car. External CB aerials with PL plugs are connected via the additional aerial connection of the on-board voltage adapter.  
The accessory connection according to the Midland/Albrecht 2-pin standard enables the connection of external headsets for any application.
The device also offers a standard BNC antenna connection to further optimise the range in portable operation.
