The strap attaches to either the smartphone case or the Air Pods Pro Case (2nd generation). The adapter is passed through the opening of the charging port of the smartphone case, whereupon the smartphone loop is attached to the metal ring of the tab using the included carabiner. It can thus be used with all smartphone brands and models.
