On a starry night...
The Stardust Festival is in full swing and it's raining star fragments! But Bowser's attack suddenly disrupts the celebration – the villain kidnaps Princess Peach and her castle, leaving Mario behind in space!

Here, our hero meets Luma, a cute star child who takes him to the observatory, where a mysterious lady named Rosalina lives. Together, they travel through the cosmos to rescue Princess Peach and thwart Bowser's plans!

Welcome to the galaxy!
From the various domes of the observatory, you can travel to neighbouring galaxies with very different characteristics. The more Power Stars you collect, the more galaxies you can reach – be sure to explore them all thoroughly!

Astral acrobatics
With Mario's usual jumping skills and Luma's powers, you can overcome all obstacles with jumps, spin attacks and stomps. Let star rings shoot you through space, collect star pieces and search the planets for power stars.

Special power-ups allow Mario to transform, giving him all sorts of new abilities to help him explore each galaxy!

Return to space with Mario and Yoshi!
A brand-new adventure awaits in the stars! Aboard the Mario Spaceship, you'll discover new galaxies, new abilities and even more weightless fun.

Another story full of stardust
A new Stardust Festival is underway! As Mario rushes to the castle to celebrate with Princess Peach, he encounters a young Luma. The beginning of a shining friendship! They continue on their journey together, but an unpleasant surprise awaits them...

Bowser is causing trouble again, and this time he's HUGE! Mario watches as the monster drags Princess Peach to the centre of the universe. It's up to Mario and Luma to chase after him and stop him once again with the power of the stars!

Full speed ahead with Spaceship Mario!
Is that a spaceship shaped like... Mario's head?! Looks like it! Travel through the stars with Lubba and her Luma crew, passing through a wide variety of galaxies. Each one has unique challenges and lots and lots of Power Stars to discover!

Reach for the stars

Sprint, jump, spin! Use the full range of Mario's abilities to explore all the galaxies, defeat all the enemies and overcome all the obstacles. Climb onto Yoshi's back and use his long tongue to eat fruit, devour enemies and swing around the area.

With the help of special power-ups, Mario can transform and gain new abilities that will help him in his exploration and battles. Yoshi doesn't miss out either – special fruits give him new abilities!

Fun together in co-op play
Give a Joy-Con controller to a friend and they can lend a hand in both games. One player controls Mario, while the other uses the pointer to collect Star Pieces, shake bushes or even fire Star Pieces at enemies to stun them.

What's new?
Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Nintendo Switch offers a number of improvements:

Improved graphics for both games.
Turn on Help Mode to get assistance! This allows you to gain more health, heal simply by standing still, and automatically return to solid ground when falling into the depths. This mode can be turned on or off at any time.

Rosalina's Storybook in Super Mario Galaxy now includes a new chapter, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 features a brand new storybook tale.

You can listen to the music from both games directly from the main menu – 154 tracks in total!

Compatible with amiibo
Scan any Mario or Rosalina amiibo (sold separately) to receive a Max Power Mushroom or 1-Up Mushroom. You can also scan other amiibo figures from the Mario series to receive coins, or any other amiibo figures to receive additional Star Pieces!

Enhanced for Nintendo Switch 2
A free update for Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be available on Nintendo Switch 2! Both games offer 4K resolution in TV mode and 1080p resolution in handheld and tabletop modes.
