Portkeys BM5IV WR 5.5" SDI/HDMI Field Monitor for Cameras and Filmmaking
The Portkeys BM5IV WR is a lightweight and strong 5.5-inch on-camera monitor with a wide colour space, 2,000 cd/m² brightness, HDMI/SDI video inputs and outputs, and wired/wireless camera control. With a simple swipe, you can switch easily between tools for exposure, focus or framing. You can also save your monitor settings to a USB stick. This allows you to transfer personal profiles to any Portkeys monitor with CINENORM OS and restore them quickly.
SDI and HDMI field monitor for professional filmmaking
The Portkeys BM5IV WR is a flexible on-camera monitor for professional filmmakers and content creators. It has several video inputs and outputs, including two HDMI inputs and outputs that support resolutions up to 4K DCI at 60P.
There are also 3G-SDI inputs and outputs that support resolutions up to 1080p/60. The SDI output can send a clean video feed or an image with a 3D LUT and peaking when needed. Thanks to HDMI cross-conversion, the BM5IV WR can be placed anywhere in the video signal chain.
With the two video inputs, you can view two different video signals at the same time in several display modes, including picture-in-picture, dual horizontal, dual vertical, left horizontal/right vertical and left vertical/right horizontal.
Professional monitoring tools for creators
The Portkeys BM5IV WR is the ideal companion for directors, camera operators, focus pullers and filmmakers, offering all monitoring functions expected from a professional on-camera monitor.
- Exposure: Zebra, false colour, ARRI false colour, LOG false colour and custom mode. A high-precision waveform can be shown in full screen. Waveform SDI output is also possible. Histogram and zebra tools are also available.
- Image analysis: With waveform, luma and RGB waveforms, vectorscope, luma and RGB histograms and audio meters, you can check exposure and white balance with high accuracy.
- Focus: Thanks to the peaking algorithm, getting sharp focus is very easy. Greyscale, colour and edge-enhancement modes as well as a zoom function are available.
- Colour: 3D LUT monitoring and 3D LUT SDI output. Users can load custom LUTs via the USB port on the bottom of the monitor and the included USB stick. An HDR mode (HLG) is also available.
- Framing and monitoring: Use tools like frame lines, grid, crosshair, check box, rectangular cut and aspect ratios to frame your shots precisely. The monitors also support anamorphic de-squeeze with all standard ratios (1.33x, 1.5x, 2.0x) and allow custom ratios from 0.25 to 4.0x. With the image capture function, you can take a snapshot of the HDMI or SDI input and store it in the monitor. Later you can load the image and adjust transparency using the overlay function.
- Monitor adjustments: You can adjust sharpness, colour saturation, backlight, hue and colour temperature. Users can also load a 3D calibration LUT via the USB port.
